I have participated in several art events coordinated by Art Watch DC. In 2017, my painted panel, dedicated to my grandfather John Haliday Dickson, was included in The One House Project. My grandfather immigrated as a young man from Canada to the USA looking for work and better opportunity.
The One House Project, is a collaboration of 220 artists committed to a vision of this country where we are united as one people rather than divided against each other by race, gender, religion, class, or any other artificial fault line. A house was created and covered by 220 panels, each dedicated to an artists' ancestor who came to this country, voluntarily or involuntarily, or was here originally. The house makes a powerful visual statement that the strength of this country is in its diversity. This exhibit was at Touchstone Gallery, Washington, DC in 2017.
