Great Falls School of Art Collage with Jennifer Duncan

May 7 - May 28 $185

Thursdays 2-4 pm  |  4 Weekly Classes left ONLINE with ZOOM Class limited to 8 students

Painted paper collage is a popular art form, with many contemporary artists and illustrators working in this medium. In this online course, you will be exploring 3 separate projects based on the style and techniques of 3 different collage artists, then students will work on their own original collages.  This will be a fun and relaxing, giving all of us time to connect.

Students will get the chance to develop their own style with subjects ranging from the figurative—including animals, botanicals, landscapes, and architecture—to the abstract. The focus will be on developing an eye for composition, use of materials and technique. Enrolled students will receive a supplies list.  About the artist instructor: Jennifer Duncan, has been teaching mixed media painting and collage out of her home studio and at the Great Falls School of Art since 2010.  Her classes aim to be fun, innovative and informative, and are designed to help students discover their own creative approach to making art.

Jennifer’s paintings have been included in group and solo exhibitions predominantly in the Washington, DC area.  Her work can be found in both national and international collections.  Jennifer is a founding member of the Great Falls Artists’ Atelier where she has held a studio since 2005 and she is a member of Studio Gallery DC in Washington. “I work in water-based mediums in a spontaneous, abstract fashion.  My paintings are inspired by and evolve from my observations of nature.   I am guided by color, line and texture, always seeking new methods to create interesting surfaces.”
